Fitness for Life

Fitness for Life is a program designed and dedicated to enriching the lives of our youth through knowledge and exercise.  The program is focused on Obesity and Weight Control, Diabetes Education, and Healthy Nutrition, through the martial arts, boxing, dance, and basketball.  We have seen an overwhelming increase in confidence and self-esteem from the children involved in individual and team competition within our community.  Children are establishing strong and positive relationships through movement and physical activity.  We are also working with children with disabilities, specifically Autism, and are investigating providing services to children with Down syndrome.

Fitness for Life was initially an after-school self-defense program developed for Inglewood Unified School District to support their most challenging elementary and middle school campuses.   It has since grown dramatically into the program it is today.  Exercise is non-existent on many of our charter and private schools campuses, and is minimal in our city and state run institutions.   Fitness for Life is now a year long program with dedicated instructors, coaches, and mentors supporting the program.
